Junior Comfort Salon

During the time that Baron Rengers van Welderen lived in the house with his family, this was the messenger room. The maid worked from this salon on the most fantastic dishes for the baron, who was mayor of Leeuwarden at the time. Today it is a stylish salon. The room is bright and sunny, painted in Rijks Koelgray and offers a view of the garden. The walls are tiled with authentic 18th century Frisian 'witjes'. Open the en suite doors and discover your own bathroom with toilet and a wonderful shower. You sleep in 2 comfortable separate box springs of 1 meter wide and 2.20 meters long. You can easily stream your favorite series or movie on the 55" Smart TV from your bed! Would you rather sleep snugly next to each other? We don't mind sliding the beds!

Comfort Salon

As soon as you swing open the door of the Comfort Salon, you will imagine yourself in other times. Each salon in our bed and breakfast is unique and has its own style. Also this one, which is painted in chic Rijks Bruin. The beautiful granite fireplace gives our Comfort Salon allure. This includes the rich, shiny and beautifully restored castle floor, the stylish old cupboard wall and the great view of the historic Blokhuispoort. From 1499 to June 2007 this was the House of Detention. After that, numerous cultural companies moved into the cells and the Blokhuispoort became a cultural hotspot, attracting many tourists. Fun to poke around!

The private bathroom with walk-in shower and separate toilet are located directly adjacent to the salon. In the salon there is a Kingsize box spring of 1.80 meters wide and 2.20 meters long and a box spring of 1 meter wide and 2.20 meters long. You can stream your favorite series or movie on the spacious 55" Smart TV from bed or chair! A weekend with friends soon? Then this is your room!

Royal Salon

The Royal Salon, our largest salon, offers a view of the famous Blokhuispoort, which has been the House of Detention in Leeuwarden for centuries. Experience the grandeur of previous centuries. The precious antique wall panels in the salon are painted in Royal Blue with gold details. Look up and enjoy the beautiful historic stucco ceilings.

Exploring Leeuwarden? No problem, you will sleep like a king in a heavenly box spring of 1.80 meters wide and 2.20 meters long.

The luxurious bathroom is hidden behind beautiful panel doors in the middle of the salon. The table for your breakfast also invites you to enjoy a delicious meal from one of the excellent restaurants around the corner. Want to relax after a busy day? The salon is equipped with a 55" Smart TV to enjoy a world of channels!

Superior Salon

The Superior Salon is our most luxurious salon, fully paneled and painted in stylish Rijks Groen. A warm carpet is laid out on the floor of ancient screeds. You can relax in the cozy sitting area in front of the imposing wood-carved fireplace. The comfortable sofa invites you to sink into it after a day full of impressions.

You have your own dining table and tea and coffee making facilities in the salon. And a huge bed! You sleep and wake up in a Super Kingsize box spring of 2 meters wide and 2.20 meters long. From here you can easily stream your favorite series or movie on the 55" Smart TV. The private bathroom is in the salon and equipped with a luxurious rain shower, toilet and sink. Can you already see yourself in this lovely room?
